Aloe and Senna are also popular herbal supplements to aid in constipation relief.
There are a variety of homeopathic constipation remedies which are to be used based upon specific symptoms being experienced with the constipation. For example, if your stools are large and hard, Calcarea carbonica is prescribed. Causticum may be prescribed when stools are difficult to pass and include straining. To determine which one is right for you, it is advisable to consult with a homeopathic practitioner.
Other natural remedies include increased intake of dietary fiber. Certain cereals and grains contain significant amounts of dietary fiber. Psyllium seed, which can be purchased in its natural state, can be mixed with liquids and consumed. It increases bulk in the intestine, which facilitates the passing of stools. Extra liquids should be consumed when adding extra fiber to the diet. Increasing intake of fruits and vegetables is also recommended for natural relief of constipation.
